Today was Amanda's 5th, always such a significant one... so we helped her celebrate it in style... well maybe not that much style, but at least enthusiastically!
Jude has come in to conduct some science research with a small group of children that she is using to obtain their responses to and concepts to particular things ( like what is 'alive') with.
The group as a whole seem to have launched into this term with new vigour, really cementing lots of learning and showing empathy and rejoicing either in new found friendships or celebrating by taking their existing ones to new heights. Really loving the group at this stage, they are developing a great collective sense of humour and enthusiasm.

Hi Malcolm,
I don't think I expressed my appreciation in our interview, so I want to thank you so much for nurturing my child to become the independent, free-thinking, self-reliant and happy child that she is. Most weekends she will ask how many sleeps until kinder (sorry, kindergarten!)...and looking back on the shy child who first entered LFK and seeing the child she has become is amazing...and her many friendships have been wonderful! I know you can't but I would love it if you would keep her for another year or two! Won't you consider a P-6 year? I'll help with the submission! Jude xx
Thanks Jude, it's always great to receive such positive feedback and believe me it is one of my dreams to build the kindergarten forward so that it could accomodate the early years of schooling. It was my dream for the block of land beside the kindergarten, unfortunately the local council thought it would better suit a child care centre
