A funny thing happened on the way to the...

Well in true Malcolm and Chris style, on our final day in Paris one of our wishes was to make our way to Sacre Coeur in Montmarte, leaving it to the last minute we rushed up there only to be harrassed by some particullarly persistent 'buggars'... finally escaping we ran to the shelter of the beautiful basilica, the top photo shows the toll the beggars took on my enjoyment of the place. Of course being in Montmarte meant we couldn't leave without a photo in front of the Moulin Rouge... but of course we would then have to contend with the beggars so we ran as fast as we could down the hillside streets of Montmarte.. but the greatest dilemna was the beautiful cafes, shops and warfs of fantastically smelling foods that surrounded us as we made our escape to wend our way to the rather tragic sight of the Moulin Rouge.... poor Satine! +sic+ photo on right. Well I guess it means we will have to return to Paris to discover the delights of Montmarte at a more leasurely pace... and a different route.
And to Nitsa... no we have not found good coffee or coffee to rival Melbourne anywhere as yet...
Am Off to Istanbul tomorrow!

Ah those pestering little begger buggars sniff out their targets brilliantly! We had a scary night time interlude with one of those buggars in Montemarte! Your funny story brought back bitter/sweet travelling memories. The positive to this tho is... it's a story you'll never forget and you look particularly sexy in your mad pose! Stay on guard, Turkey has some crazy ones lurking too. Love your posts, keep them coming! Yia ha bibi ale le ah ah!

Hi Malcolm,
I'm sure you are loving Istanbul, have some apple tea for me and watch out for the shoe-shiners who try to shine your trainers!
Take care,
Jude

Talk about a room with a view - wow! Turkey is one of the most intriguing places in the world, I think so anyway. Are you getting used to the prayer times?? pretty freaky, hey?
Light a candle for me in Hagia Sofia if you can, that would be ace! Tried the hubble bubble yet? If you do, I want a photo!
Take care and don't wander too far alone at night, all those mohammeds and all those mountains - eek!
